Howdy! Here is my first article as president for 2008-2010 terms. My goal is to share highlights of each board meeting, issues, ideas and strategies for the time ahead. I express my appreciation to the Hall of Fame Committee – Walt Camenisch, Kathyrn Caldcleagh, Anita Dalla, and J.T. Jacobs to make the Hall of Fame Inductees’ celebration on October 4, 2008. We provided the Rudy’s worst BBQ breakfast to the members before we awarded three inductees for community services. They were John Mills, Glenn Brunson and Hazel Joan Pate. KUDOS to them!

I express appreciation to Andrew Horn, Vice President 2006-2008 and his committee – Brenda Mills, Brenda Oates, Cathy Simerka and Dorothy Floyd, Ann Horn for their hard work in assisting the TSDAA general meeting. Over 80 people attended. They enjoyed eating the BBQ breakfast tacos. 

After TSDAA General Meeting was adjourned, members were excited to the 10^th anniversary of TSDAA Heritage Center. Over 1000 people couldn’t wait to enter the heritage center after Curator Franna Camenisch made a special announcement – to honor Billy Buza by putting his name on the sign. To thank Billy for his tireless efforts in planning and organizing the donations from other people and companies in support the TSDAA Heritage Center.   Franna also thanked Mark Hansen, TSD Alumni who designed the landscape around the TSDAA Heritage Center. It looked awesome.

The TSD Girls’ Volleyball game was played by Maryland School for the Deaf. We lost by 1-3 in four games with them. They both were greatly teams.   TSD Football Game, we lost by 0-54 to Maryland School for the Deaf. TSD Football players were really sportsmanship.

We know for sure that we will make a great team for the next two years to make the TSDAA stronger. Thanks to Thomas Becker, Andrew Horn, and Georgia Knuhue who were departing from the board members. They have worked hard thru the terms of 2006-2008. We will miss three of them but know they have their hearts for TSDAA in many ways.  We continue our educational VRS by using our Texanvrs.tv.   Any question, please contact us at kentkennedy@yahoo.com.
